Stretching toward a distant Delta horizon, Long Row to Hoe finds rhythm in the familiar lines of cultivated land. Warm browns, ochres, and earthy neutrals sweep across the field, interrupted by flashes of vivid aqua from the underpainting beneath. Those unexpected glimpses of color bring energy to the freshly worked ground and turn a familiar rural landscape into something a little less expected.

Loose, expressive marks and converging rows exaggerate the vast, flat perspective of the Mississippi Delta, where a field can seem to run on forever. Both grounded and playful, Long Row to Hoe is a colorful interpretation of the land, the work, and the long view ahead.
