Mississippi River Bridge Under Construction captures a fleeting moment before the bridge became part of everyday life. Suspended between completion and opening, it stood in silence—its lights glowing through a blanket of heavy fog, reflecting in hues of green, amber, and red. Without traffic or movement, the structure felt almost otherworldly, as though it existed outside of time.

Painted from memory and a handful of nighttime photographs, this piece is less a documentary record than an attempt to preserve an atmosphere that could never be fully captured by a camera. It speaks to those rare moments when an ordinary place briefly becomes extraordinary.
